Listed below are links to weblogs that reference The Great Toilet Paper Debate:

Comments

Erika

Toilet paper--dispense from front.
Toothpaste--I squeeze from the middle until there's not much left.
Toilet--seat down, lid up.

And one more that Greg has recently corrected me on--spare toilet paper goes in the cabinet under the sink...not in a drawer (which is where I was keeping it until he couldn't find it). He said "Who keeps it in a drawer? No one! It goes under the cabinet" lol...I gave in and changed my ways.

Sarah

I used to have my toilet paper dipense under, until I realized I just didn't care. I think I had a neurotic friend that would actually change MY toilet paper to come over the top.

Now we use pump toothpaste, so it's not a problem, and the toilet lid thing really just depends on who used it last.

I guess we're pretty easy going here.

I've been testing all the tp brands and have a new favorite. Since we're on the tp subject I thought it fitting to share -- CHARMIN BASIC is a must try for all.

Chad likes the tp over the top because that's how hotels do it. Plus he likes the little folds they do it make a point on the first square. It makes you feel more professional when you wipe your ass.

Hey I could go on all day about tp!!!

I used to prefer the lid down ( so I wouldn't drop things in there) but sometimes it's best to have lid up if toilet won't be used frequently you won't get mold growing in there.

Life's lessons . . .

mom

I can't believe Mich hasn't responded. Her mom is quite vocal about my tp being on the wrong way. I think she has changed it a couple of times when she was over. I have it come from the back, I guess because my mom did it that way. I almost convinced Jason that it was the best way during one of our very intelligent discussions.

Doesn't matter to us which way the tp goes as long as it is on the dang roll. Toothpaste is another story.....Meg is very picky about toothpaste and has to have her own tube in her bathroom. At the slightest hint of running out, she is adding it to the grocery list. Funny how she never worries about if the toothpaste in my bathroom is getting low. Ah, the joys of 2 gals, 7 and almost 31, living in the same house. The toilet seat is a given in our house, unless the fella is over - then we just remind him about the rules of being around girls. When he lives here, he can have the damn toilet seat anyway he wants, but until then... seat down, close the lid. :-)

Alison

You can see what gets Kelly riled: TP is preceded with dang, and the seat is preceded with damn. Ah-ha. Sure he'll have a choice when he moves in. Here, there's no choice. We keep the seat and the lid down. That way we both have a chore to complete after doing our business.

On the toothpaste issue I'm with Erika - from the middle until it's almost gone, though it drives Jeromy crazy.

Regarding TP brands, I disagree with JP. White Cloud is my preference. However, my beef with Charmin is too personal to discuss with the Internet.

And finally, I'm wondering if my original insistence on dispensing the paper from the front was another way of rebelling against my mother. But, of course, I've ended up doing it her way after all, like everything else. (As http://www.sarahandthegoonsquad.blogspot.com/>Tiffer said when she talked about the eggs: we can't help becoming our parents.)

jen

This is a NEW Charmin not like the OLD Charmin.
The old stuff gets no stars with me.
This new stuff is even one-ply and I think you're gonna end up with a supply in your bathroom next time I see ya!
Don't knock it till ya tried it.
I tried your White Cloud. That's all I got to say about that.

Erika

So Charmin's not linty anymore? That's why I've always hated it.

Great...now the Charmin jingle's in my head! lol

Toilet paper definitely from the front, ask Marcy. I used to not care until I lived with her for three years; I guess you could say I was trained. Squeezing the tooth past at the top may be cause for divorce in my house. Toilet seat must stay down; if it is left up I am a very unhappy person. This used to not be a big deal until Rich left it up one night and I fell in the toilet.

Sarah

Jen,

That happened to me one time when I was pregnant! I would get up so many times at night, I just stopped turning on the lights. Gabe was really good about putting it down for a while, but after I spent six weeks in the hospital, then the babies came home, we got all new habits.
