Tell yourself every day, year after year until it sinks in:
Ohio does not do spring. Ohio does not do spring. Ohio does not do spring. Ohio does not do spring. Ohio does not do spring. Ohio does not do spring. Ohio does not do spring. Ohio does not do spring. Ohio does not do spring. Ohio does not do spring. Ohio does not do spring. Ohio does not do spring. Ohio does not do spring. Ohio does not do spring. Ohio does not do spring. Ohio does not do spring. Ohio does not do spring. Ohio does not do spring. Ohio does not do spring. Ohio does not do spring. Ohio does not do spring. Ohio does not do spring. Ohio does not do spring. Ohio does not do spring.
Also, there's been some concern about me not posting here for awhile. I'm not in the hospital or on bed rest or anything. Just fat. And tired. And lazy. And swollen. But otherwise very healthy.

You're right, Ohio does not do spring. At least you got away from it for a few years.
You may be tired, lazy and swollen, but you are certainly not fat!

Ah, Marcy sees me a few times a week, so she's probably right. But man if I don't feel fat.

Tiffer,
You can come to my house. I'm about to get my first Spring in about 22 years.

Spring? We had spring a few weeks ago ... when the azaleas bloomed for about 20 minutes.

I don't know who decided what months should be in what season, but March IS NOT, NEVER has been and NEVER will be Spring. At least not in Ohio that is. That's why March is my least favorite month. I'm ready for Spring, they tell you it's Spring, but Spring doesn't have a chance until sometime in April..... when you live in Ohio.

Yeah, but this year Ohio had spring during winter, Ohio had spring during winter, Ohio had spring during winter.
It's so weird that after an amazingly mild winter during which I never pulled out my bulkiest sweaters, spring brought the first snow day of the year for my wife, the school librarian.
Take good care of yourself!
God bless!
Mark

We (teachers and students, but really teachers more than students) were hoping for our first and only chance for a snow day this year. Unfortunately, it was too little, too late. My students asked me today, "Why is it snowing on the second day of spring?" I said, "Because we live in Ohio!"
I have one particular co-worker that is extremely weather conscious. She gives us updates on our chances of having a snow day. I think she has better resources than Chris Bradley, the local weather guy.

If it makes you Ohio people feel any better it snowed in Virginia last night too.
I thought this was suppoesed to be "The South".

Tiffer: Last time I threatened to come to your house, you were worried I'd go into labor while there.
Becky: Then they shriveled up and melted away a few weeks later?
Dad: I decided long ago that whoever chose the seasonal date changes must have been living in NC, where they actually get spring-like weather in March.
Mark: THAT was spring? Back in January? Oh man, am I a whimp.
Susan: Too bad you can't carry over snow days to the next year.
Sarah: Yep, those seasonal date changes were decided in NC. Not VA.

Ali- we have Spring in VT!!! We also have a 5th season before and during Spring- Mud season. My road is so rutted and pot-holed right now... 2 1/2 miles of crappy gravelled road- I think w/a lot of sand mixed in, which isn't good.
Now, it seems Winter is pinning her little sister, Spring- to the ground and not letting up.
At least the red-winged blackbirds are home now. I love their song.

Indiana also does not do spring. I am from Indiana.
I do not miss the winter instead of spring phenomenon.
I'll just stay here in Florida. It's cold here today, it's 67.....brrrrrrrrr.

March is a great month. Perfect for flying kites! It's so exciting to see something come in like a lion and go out like a lamb. What other month can boast that? As a Pisces I'd have to say it's my favorite month. It's crazy like most pisces.
I saw a new bird with a red head and black with white speckled body. Anyone know what it is?
I'd like to make March hunting season for those nasty Canadian Geese that are overpopulating our state and crapping by the truckloads on our walkways.
Also the Fabulous Buzzards are back every March. Last year 18 of them were perched atop our barn --PHENOMENONAL!!!
Our mile-long driveway used to have stones till the rains came. Now we too have muddy potholes that can throw you right into the yard if you don't hit 'em right.
Chris Bradley sucks a**!!! I've never been happier to see someone leave a newschannel. Just saying his name makes me cringe

Jen- My guess on the bird would be a Red Headed Woodpecker. I always use to watch birds at G&G F's and then look them up in their bird book and it seems to me that's what it looks like.
