Let's be honest. The main reason most of us have at least a passing fascination with Astrology is because we're fascinated with ourselves. My astrology reading, after all, is All About Me.
(And aproximately 1/12 of the rest of the world.)
So maybe it's bunk or coincidence or simply the genius of creative generalities. Maybe I'm influenced by planetary forces, but It's more likely that I'm influenced by what I read and how I interpret it.
Mostly I like to read. And I like to interpret. Which is why I like Rob Brezsny. Here's what he has to say for Aquarians this week:
I would love it if you could find a sword that could cut itself. Or a fire that could burn itself. Or some water you could wash. But even if you can conjure the magic to attract an experience that simply resembles one of those marvelous paradoxes, it would set in motion a series of epiphanies that would liberate you from an inferior paradox -- a confusing absurdity that is not worthy of you and that has been draining your life force.
Isn't that lovely? And so true? Most of the things causing stress and chaos in my life are indeed absurdities not worthy of my attention. And yet I give it.
Now that I've hopped over to Rob's site to find the link to his newsletter, I see that Jason Mraz calls him everyone's favorite Astrologist, so he must be even more mainstream than I realized. Maybe you're already subscribing.
Me? I'm signing off to look for an unlit fire, an uncut sword and a dry rush of water. I really could use a good paradox right about now.

I used to pay a lot of attention to astrology. Sadly, most daily horoscopes are so general that they could apply to anything and are barely worth reading.
I've never heard of this guy before but his prose is so beautiful that it might be worth reading even if I don't take it as advice.
