We're getting ready to host our very first house concert with Rick and Donna Nestler.
What is a house concert? As the name suggests, it's a concert in your home. Instead of a loud arena show or a smoke-filled bar where nobody really listens to the band, it's a gathering of friends who enjoy live music and storytelling. The host invites friends and the artist performs songs in a room where everyone has a seat with a great view of the show. Guests are asked to provide a donation with all proceeds going to the artist.
We're hoping to generate enough interest to host at least six or seven house concerts in the next year. You can learn more about the house concert concept at the Concerts In Your Home Website. We're really excited to be sharing our love of music, meeting new musicians, sharing stories and supporting independent artists.

A Coast Guard licensed Master, an actor, a singer and a songwriter, Rick Nestler can truly bring songs to life. He has appeared at coffeehouses, folk festivals, house concerts and museums across the US.
He has learned some of his most effective performance techniques playing in low waterfront dives and institutions of higher learning from St. Thomas to Toronto, California to New York and everywhere in between.
Pete Seeger calls him, "the Terror of the River, raffish Rick Nestler." The New York Times says, "One of the prime troubadours of Hudson River lore and legend is Rick Nestler." Rich Bala, Joe Heukerott, and Pete Seeger have all recorded his original song, "The River That Flows Both Ways."
Donna Nestler, a member of the Dirty Stay-Out Skifflers Jug Band, will join Rick. A superb instrumentalist, she adds ukulele, mandolin, banjolele, washboard, kazoo, soaring vocals and more.
