When Erin admited to liking Christmas music, I had to tell her about this new Christmas album that one of my co-workers recently discovered.
Can you imagine something better than Tommy Lee singing Little Drummer Boy? Iggy Pop singing O Silent Night?
How about Billy Idol singing Jingle Bells. In a suit and tie. Don't believe me? Go watch the videos on ol' Billy's MySpace page.
btw, I like Christmas music too. Jeromy doesn't. The only way I can get him to listen to the stuff is if it's a country or bluegrass artist singing holiday tunes. So I buy one every year. We have Ricky Skaggs, Vince Gill, Patty Loveless - and others - singing holiday tunes. What's your favorite holiday album?
I think my favorite is Kenny Rogers' Christmas Greetings. It was one we listened to every year when I was a kid, and I just love the songs on it.

Mannheim Christmas is always great. This year I bought a duet Christmas cd w/ Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton -- it is wonderful!
Charlie Brown Christmas has to be my all time favorite.
As a bah humbug, I always surprise myself at how much I enjoy Christmas music even though I'm not too crazy about the razzamatazz that goes along with Christmas these days.

I like the older stuff like Bing Crosby and Judy Garland and such.
I can't imagine anyone NOT liking Christmas music. I've never even heard of such a thing until now!

I know it isn't "strictly" a Christmas album, but I always love to listen to "The Messiah" this time of year.

I don't really have a favorite, but thought you might want to check out Twisted Sister's new holiday cd. I just think that it has to be funny.

I love Christmas and start playing the music of the season on Thanksgiving Day.
A recent favorite is a James Taylor Christmas CD, which he recorded for Hallmark two years ago, but has now been issued under a different title. I saw it at Target the other night.
A perennial favorite of our household is a Word release of about fifteen years ago, 'Our Christmas,' featuring Michael W. Smith, Grant, Roberta Flack, Bryan Duncan, Russ Taff, Al Green, and others. It's wonderful, presenting more contemporary spins on Christmas classics. Al Green's version of 'The First Noel' is soulful and infectiously joyous!
All of Grant's and Smith's solo Christmas LPs have been fantastic!
We also have a collection of Bing Crosby's Christmas recordings, which is nice. Crosby certainly attached himself to the holiday at least for decades to come with his recording of the Irving Berlin song, 'White Christmas,' undergirded by his performance of it in two films, 'Holiday Inn' and 'White Christmas.' (Of course, he added to his connection to Christmas with his film roles in 'The Bells of Saint Mary' and 'Going My Way.')
And a two-CD set issued by the White Barn Candle Company several years back is an eclectic collection including cuts by Sting, Elton John, Ringo Starr, B.B. King, Barenaked Ladies, Louis Armstrong, Jewel, Ella Fitzgerald, and others. It's a nice listen.
But that 'Our Christmas' collection is my favorite, bar none!
I think I'll put some music on right now.

My husband is a bit of a bah-humbug when it comes to Christmas music. He says "If it was good music you would listen to it all year long."
I personally enjoy Christmas music.

My husband picked up THE MOST FABULOUS CHRISTMAS ALBUM EVER.
And it is.

I drove my van today for the first time since Christmas day and realized my station was no longer playing Christmas music.
I felt very sad. More so than any person really should.
